David Carpenter

David is the former owner and president of Carpenters-Phillip, and he continues his involvement with the funeral home in a consulting position. He brings a lifelong history of commitment to funeral service to the team.
David was born and raised in Corning, New York where he lived over Carpenter's Funeral Home. He graduated from the former Corning Northside High School in 1962, and went on to attend Taylor University, North Carolina State University, and Simmons School of Mortuary Science.
He began his career at Carpenter’s Funeral Home in 1968 as a third generation funeral director. In 1990 David returned to Corning where he and his brother purchased Phillips Funeral Home.
David is a resident of Painted Post and Fort Meyers, FL. He is a member of the Corning Rotary Club, past president of Corning Meals on Wheels, and serves on the advisory board of the Corning Salvation Army. David and his wife Brenda are active members of the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post, NY and McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Meyers, FL. Brenda retired from managing the Endoscopy Department at Corning Hospital in 2004.
Funeral service has been a lifelong passion for David.

Affiliations and Volunteer Activities
David is a member of the Corning Rotary Club, past president of Corning Meals on Wheels, and serves on the advisory board of the Corning Salvation Army.
David and his wife Brenda are active members of the Victory Highway Wesleyan Church in Painted Post, NY and McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Meyers, FL where they enjoy their winters.
